Splachno Moss is a type of Fissidens, so takes on the unique feather or palm frond characteristics of the species. However, compared to Fissidens Nobilis and Fontanus, Splachno has very small fronds. Its growth is therefore very compact and will eventually form into a rounded, fluffy bush.

Splachno Moss is best placed in the foreground of your aquarium, attached to hardscape or as a separate bush where it will create tiny soft puffs of texture in your aquascape.

It is easy to care for, requiring only low to medium lighting, with CO2 not required but beneficial. It grows relatively slowly and requires temperatures ideally below 25°.
